The St Ann. PTO has committed to the renovation of the Big Playground this year. This renovation would update the current space where our first through fifth grade students play.  The proposed scope of work includes removing all mulch and replacing it with a combination of turf and rubber playing surfaces. We would also remove all the old metal equipment and add one new multi-climbing structure, which will free up space for an open play area for the kids to play soccer, football, tag, etc. Finally, we will level and extend the turf surface to where the picnic benches are and add a sun shade so kids can sit, play games, and socialize in the shade.

The total estimated cost for this plan is $155,000. We have $50,000 committed from MACS and $15,000 in site work being donated by a St. Ann family. 

That leaves $90,000 we need to raise to make this playground a reality.

Project Background:

In 2021, the PTO was looking for ways to spend some extra funds towards school improvments. While having a meeting on the small playground about adding some small items, the Kindergarten teachers ran out and shared that what would really make daily playground life better, would be to get rid of the mulch and fix the fence. The Big Playground was also identified as needed updated due to the mulch that continuously washes away, old broken fencing, dated equipment and no space for open play. Thus began a 2 year process of getting quotes, plans, commitment from stakeholders and fundraising. In the Spring of 2023, thanks to generous contributions from our St. Ann families, we had enough funds to green light the construction of the Small Playground project that summer.

Future St. Ann School Facility Plans:

We are excited to share a significant development in our school's journey towards enhancing the educational experience for our children. To bring this broader vision to life, we are not only relying on our community's support but are also seeking a partnership with a major Catholic donor who shares our commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for all learners. This collaboration represents a monumental step forward in our mission to provide an enriching educational experience.  The partnership could result in a seven-figure gift to the school.
